Weekend Round Up 9th/10th November

157 Runners turn out for Southend Parkrun

Saturday morning saw 45 personal bests set at our local Southend Parkrun in Gunners Park, Shoebury as a total of 157 runners took part in the weekly 5km run.

The top three male finishers were:

1st: Ian Anthony (Havering Mayesbrook AC) 16:53

2nd: Dave Tullett (Chelmsford AC) 17:43. 

3rd: Paul Ruffy (Benfleet RC) 18:11.

The top three female finishers were: 

1st: Charley Jennings (Unattached) 20:28

2nd: Felicity Galbally (Basildon AC) 20:54

3rd: Nicola Bredin (Basildon AC) 21:21

Bloomfield and Allen take titles at Stebbing Remembrance Day 10

Billericay Strider's Crispian Bloomfield and Springfield Strider's June Allen took the male and female titles in Sunday's Stebbing Remembrance Day 10 mile road race.

Nearly 500 runners completed the sixth event in the Essex Road Running Championship calendar with Bloomfield first across the line in 53:56.

The first 3 male finishers were:

1st: Crispian Bloomfield (Billericay Striders) 53:56
2nd: Nick Shasha (Orion) 54:53
3rd: Jack Stroud (Orion) 54:56

The first 3 female finishers were:


1st: June Allen (Springfield) 61:08
2nd: Nikki Brockbank (Springfield) 66:11
3rd: FIona Halls (Saffron) 67:04
